Doha, Qatar – Sixty of IAID’s Indian Classical Dance students successfully passed with flying colors the recent Nalanda Dance Research Centre Annual Graded Examinations held last January.
“What so fortunate about this year, IAID did not just achieve another 100% passing rate, but all the examinees got A level grades on its practical and theory tests. IAID will be continuing this high-level standard in training and continuously promoting the rich culture of this Indian dance form” said Dr. Dimple Nair, IAID Artistic Director.
The Indian Classical Dance program for girls is a 7-year certificate course. IAID is the only Academy outside India that offers certificate courses from the renowned institute, Nalanda Dance Research Centre (Mumbai, India.) The course tackles the dance styles Bharatanatyam, Kathak and Mohiniattam. Certificates are awarded to its graduates; “Prarambhika” after four years and “Kovida” after seven years. To date, the course has evolved into a 9-year course with students taking the master class to pursue their learnings further.
